1994 Fools: Looking for excellent, obscure prog

Does anybody have any information about the following prog bands?
I've heard their tapes, which are pretty damn amazing, but don't know
anything about the bands themselves. If anybody has any information, how
about posting it? Thanks.

ARTIST ALBUM
====================================================
Child of Vishnu Cantata of Life
Meo Peo Halflife
Paaraan Haakkaabaar V. S.
Tudor Tension Killing Me Gently
Yad Slirp Aloof

BTW, I will pay $100 (US) for each of these albums -- original vinyl
only -- if anybody can locate copies.

Wow, never knew anybody else was into Vishnu, totally excellent. I also
have the Paaraan. What a weird group. Not sure I'd call it prog, but
its sure non-standard. The album cover looks like a big butt cheek.

I'm not so crazy about the Paaraan, but a collector tells me that its worth
at least $150. Make me an offer.

!!! Somehow, I'm not too surprised, with song names like
"Bummedelica", "Cheeky Devil", and "Per Un Asshole".

Oh, right. Your "collector" buddy is full of crap. What do you
think I am, STUPID or something? You can insert your Paaraan album up your
you-know-what.

Anybody else out there have any of these albums???

Get stuffed you elitist pretencious pig! For your information I just sold
the Paaraan album to Peter Thelen for $200. And Mike Borella offered $175!
So up yours!

Sorry, just bought the CD release from TT`s KMG yesterday. It was in the
cutout bin for 4,10 DM. They had lots of them, anyway. Catalog number
is CDJEERP003 from Boxing Mushroom Records - Excellent quality btw,
yet it is in DAA quality. But a "Infinitive Edition" rerelease will come
out in 12 months what will be remastered from the original 7-track-tapes.

But as said, no vinyl, sorry. I especially like the 3rd movement from
"bringing up the last six days of mothers pretentious staircase" titled as
"the immortal times of Yet Another Chainsaw".

What are you trying to say? That Peter Thelen has more money than I do? That
he has a better job? A nicer wife? More well-adjusted children? A more
expensive car? A better looking mistress? A nymphomanic coke connection that
owns a Ferrari dealership?

Who's elistist now????

Wasn't that a picture of a tattoo of a butt cheek with a tattoo of a butt
cheek? I'll bet 70% of the readers are now thinking "huh?", the rest
are thinking 'heh heh heh'.

Or are we just talking about Guru Guru's Hinten? :-)

This thread looks to be the most elaborately staged and coordinated
April Fool's Day exhibition ever.

Either that, or you all are serious. I wouldn' even want to ponder that one.

OK, April Fools Day is over, so I guess I can admit it. :-) "Willy
Smythe (smythe@math.uh.edu)" is not a real person -- I was using my
math.uh.edu account with a little News-posting trickery.

If you take a close look at these fake progressive rock album
names:

	ARTIST ALBUM
	====================================================
Child of Vishnu Cantata of Life
	Meo Peo Halflife
	Paaraan Haakkaabaar V. S.
	Tudor Tension Killing Me Gently
	Yad Slirp Aloof

you may notice that the last one is an anagram.... So no, I am not really
offering $100 each for these albums. ;-)

Thanks to Mike Borella and the rest of the folks who figured out
that I was joking and joined in the fun! "Album cover shaped like a
big butt cheek" indeed!!

FYI, the post was inspired by Mike Borella's article last week
containing the names of more than 100 obscure prog bands, NONE of which I had
ever heard of. I started thinking, how hard would it be to invent prog band
names and make people believe that they were real?

>Either that, or you all are serious. I wouldn't even want to ponder that
>one.

	I don't blame you. :-)
